The Engine Company stretches and advances hose lines to suppress fire as well as to establish water supply. Engine company one has 4 Class A Pumpers and all of the engines are similarly set up with stretching beds for primary and secondary attack lines, 2-1/2” diameter hose for commercial fires, 3” diameter hose and 5” diameter hose for water supply. All of the Engines carry a similar set of firefighting tools and ladders and 2 are based in each firehouse. Engine 4-4-2 is primarily assigned to Station One and is specialized with a compliment of Hydraulic Rescue tools.
Engine Company Members are cross trained to Ladder Company assignments as well as various levels of EMS training to support the Department’s EMS Operations. One Ambulance is also assigned to Engine Company One.
