The Commissioners of the Nesconset Fire Dept. are dedicated men. All striving to give the members of our Department the newest and best equipment available, while giving the taxpayers of Nesconset the best representation available.

The Commissioners balance the fire district budget year after year, and  keep our Department operations fiscally responsible to our neighbors and members.

The Nesconset Board of Commissioners consist of five members,  a Chairman of the Board and four Commissioners. Each year there is an election of a Commissioner and a new chairmen is appointed from the five members. The board rotates all positions and responsibilities over their five year term. This process allows the Commissioners to oversee different divisions and responsibilities of the district each year, keeping them  current with all aspects of the Fire District.After their five year term they must run for re-election or retire from the board. A new commissioner is elected from the residents of Nesconset who submit a petition requesting this person to run. Each year in December,  the election is held and the public votes  for a candidate/s at a public election.The winner of this election is sworn in as a commissioner of the District , and begins a five year term.
